Our team successfully completed the second phase of the IT network installation project at the business site in Fairfield, Ohio. Delivering a fully configured and tested network infrastructure tailored to meet the client’s growing connectivity needs. This comprehensive job involved the installation of IT cabinet, network hardware, data cabling, fiber connectivity, and wireless access points across a commercial facility.
Network Installation Project
Our client in Fairfield, Ohio sent a service request to upgrade their network infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the business. Based on the client’s requirements, our onsite IT support in Fairfield, OH will perform the following scope of work:
- Wall-mounted 15U network cabinet installation on 4′ x 8′ plywood backboard
- 3 new CAT6 drops for wireless access points (APs)
- Termination of 11 roughed-in CAT6 cables
- Installation of client-provided switch, firewall, UPS, SPF module, and APs
- Complete testing, labeling, and documentation of all network drops
IT Network Installation: IT Cabinet Setup
The installation phase commenced with the assembly and wall-mounting of a 15U network cabinet onto a 4′ x 8′ plywood backboard. Our technician securely mounted the unit next to the facility’s AC distribution panels
Our team designated this cabinet as the centralized point of termination for all network cabling and hardware. After mounting it, they racked all client-supplied equipment according to industry best practices for accessibility, cooling efficiency, and cable management. The equipment installed included:
- Network switch – core distribution for internal LAN traffic
- SFP module – integrated into the fiber switch for uplink connectivity
- Firewall – providing perimeter network security and traffic control
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) – delivering power conditioning and backup support
- Rack-mounted fiber switch – serving as the backbone for fiber-optic distribution

Our team routed the cables using structured pathways to facilitate airflow and future maintenance. This rack system provided a clean, professional, and technically sound infrastructure hub to support all network services within the facility.
IT Network Installation: Wireless Access Point Cabling and Installation
To support the network expansion and ensure comprehensive wireless coverage across the facility, the team installed three (3) new Category 6 (CAT6) data drops for deploying wireless access points (APs) in strategic locations.
– One (1) data drop in the office area, positioned to optimize coverage in administrative and common-use spaces.
– Two (2) data drops in the main warehouse area, strategically located to ensure signal propagation across large open spaces with minimal interference and optimal device connectivity.

Our team executed each cable run in compliance with TIA/EIA-568 standards and routed all cables back to the main network rack for termination at the patch panel. After completing the cabling, they securely mounted three (3) client-provided wireless access points in their designated locations.
Data Cabling in Fairfield OH
A total of eleven (11) pre-installed Category 6 (CAT6) data drops were identified for termination and integration. Each cable was:
- Precisely trimmed and terminated at both endpoints—patch panel (rack end) and RJ45 keystone jacks using T568B wiring configuration in accordance with ANSI/TIA-568 standards.
- Faceplate Installation: Eleven (11) wall-mounted faceplates were installed at the device end locations to house the terminated keystone jacks. Faceplates were mounted securely, aligned for a clean, professional finish, and positioned to maintain accessibility while minimizing exposure to potential physical damage.

- Labeled on both ends using a consistent identification scheme to facilitate future troubleshooting, documentation, and maintenance.
- Tested end-to-end with a certified cable tester (Cable Prowler) to validate continuity, correct pair terminations, and performance compliance.

Our team executed all termination and routing procedures in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) best practices. Upon completion, they brought all eleven data drops online and verified successful connectivity at each endpoint.
Conclusion
Our team successfully completed the network upgrade project in Fairfield, Ohio, meeting all client requirements for performance, scalability, and compliance. The scope includes the assembly and mounting of a 15U wall-mounted IT cabinet, structured cabling for fourteen (14) CAT6 data drops, full hardware deployment, and wireless access point installation.
This installation delivered a robust and scalable network environment, ready to support current business operations and future growth. We performed all work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), TIA/EIA structured cabling standards, and industry best practices.
