Planning and Preparation
Our onsite IT Support in Missouri performed a site survey visit for planning and assessment of the PoE security cameras installation.
- Strategically determine camera installation points and cable paths with onsite point of contact (POC).
- Assess requirements like:
- Suitable security camera brand and features based on clients’ need.
- Mounting and miscellaneous parts
- Security conduit or junction boxes
- NVR mounting requirements

Scope of Work
To Install five outdoor cameras, NVR & monitor TV along with Cat6 data cabling in Missouri.
- NVR in garage on existing shelving
- HDMI cable pass-through for NVR to Monitor connection
- To be filled with foam sealant and capped with grommets
- 5 Cat6 Cables run from NVR (garage) through attic to soffit where they can be mounted/installed
- Cat6 cables will not have outside exposure, no conduit needed
- J-hooks and zip ties required
- Mount & install 5 cameras on soffit
- Setup NVR and ensure customer knows how to use it
- Install local viewing monitor or TV
- Confirm the NVR & cameras positioning/angles with customer
- Use customer’s email and show customer to set/change passwords
- Install App on customer’s phone
- Test and confirm functionality with customer
- Document installation photos.
Camera Installations and NVR Setup
Our expert security system installers arrived onsite, marked the predetrmined installation points under soffit, placed the mounting brackets and installed the cameras. Next, routed the Cat6 through attic from soffit secured with J-hooks and zip ties way to the NVR location. Then, set up the NVR (Network Video Recorder), connect each cameras to the NVR using ethernet cables (Cat6).


Power up the NVR, connect it to the monitor / TV, configure network settings for remote access, and set up storage by installing and formatting the hard drive. Next, confirm camera positioning and angles with the customer, ensuring key areas are covered while adjusting for blind spots.
Once finalized, demonstrate how to view live feeds, playback recordings, and set up remote access via a mobile app. Guide the customer through motion detection settings, alert configurations, and backup/export options while providing basic troubleshooting tips for common issues. Ensure they are oriented using the security camera system before completing the installation.
