We have a need for lower and mid-level experienced data cabling techs (Cat6) that wish to join a winning team in a brand new cutting edge enterprise-level data center facility.
This position will also have opportunities for advancement to Sr Tech and to Foreman/Team Lead which both have increased pay levels.
Job Overview
Low-Voltage Structured Data Cabling (Cat6) for large data center project.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various Cat6 cabling systems, including pulling the actual Cat6 cable, terminating, testing, punching-down and labeling cables in accordance with the site/client rules and our SOPs.
Always ensuring high-quality service for our clients, this role requires a good understanding of network cabling/IT infrastructure and networking principles, as well as proficiency in using hand tools and equipment related to low voltage installations.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage data cabling systems including Cat6 network cabling installations and Cat6 cable testing services.
- Security camera installation
- Work as a part of a much larger team, be a team player
- Show up on time every day to work with your team
- Work with low voltage wiring to ensure proper connectivity and functionality of services.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to complete installations efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion while adhering to safety standards.
- Document installation processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their cabling needs.
- Undergo onsite safety and OSHA 10 training if you don't already have OSHA 10.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cabling, network installation, or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and practices is essential.
- Ability to work independently and with a team while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using hand tools and equipment necessary for installation tasks.
- Knowledge of Ethernet standards and practices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
