Job Description:
à Current WLAN (and much of the LAN/WAN) environment is Cisco
à 2 - 3 years minimum of Cisco WLAN set up, device programming, monitor and upgrade wireless infrastructures - (WAP’s), such as wireless controllers, network access control systems and guest user systems.
à 3 to 5 years Network Engineering experience
à Good on performing Wi-Fi Heatmap Surveys (Netspot, Ekahau, etc.) on routers/WAP’s for speed redundancy, coverage, signal strengths, etc.
à Responsible for WAP positioning and wireless installations, including provisioning, physical placement and testing of new WAPs.
à Strong Cisco infrastructure (Switching & Routing)
à Troubleshooting experience on wireless infrastructures - (WAP’s)
à Network Technicians must also provide guidance to IT support staff relating to the use of wireless troubleshooting tools.
à Must also resolve conference call connection issues, video and audio quality problems, and endpoint issues.
à Low-Voltage Data Cabling support (e.g. Cat5/Cat6/Coaxial {not fiber optic}, run cables, terminate w/ RJ45's, patchwork) as per client manager's requests
